Council accepts EMS training officer change, approves fund transfer and interim mileage reimbursement

The Wymore City Council accepted the resignation of Clark McMurray as Safety Training Officer for the Wymore EMS department and approved Anthony Troxel as his successor during the Oct. 2 meeting.
Councilors voted to transfer $40,223.59 (the difference between EMS revenue and expenses for fiscal year 2024) from the EMS General Fund to the EMS Special Money Market Account. Clerk Janet Riensche explained that accounting software changes and staff turnover have delayed reconciliation for a similar transfer from the Fire Department general budget; that transfer will be placed on a future agenda once amounts are clarified.
Utility Superintendent Tim Sedlacek raised concerns about using his personal vehicle for city business amid high fuel costs and limited recognition while performing city duties. The council approved reimbursing Sedlacek at the IRS mileage rate until a city vehicle can be found and insurance coverage is arranged.
No additional budget authorizations were recorded for purchasing a city vehicle; the reimbursement is an interim measure.
