Council hears backhoe quote, postpones purchase decisions; public asks to put Police SUV and vehicle invoice on next agenda

Wymore — The Wymore City Council heard several operational and equipment updates at its Nov. 20 meeting. City Superintendent Tim Sedlacek said he had just received a quote for a backhoe and that warranty and extended-warranty terms were under review; he promised a contract for council consideration at the next meeting.
During public comment Fire Chief/participant Mark Meints asked to add the Police SUV to the next agenda to discuss persistent issues with that vehicle. Councilman Neil Van Boening asked to add a North Central Emergency Vehicle invoice to the next agenda for follow-up. Neither item was acted on Nov. 20; both were placed on the list for the next meeting.
On staffing, councilors said they interviewed candidates for an open lineman position and offered the job to Trevor Campbell; Campbell initially accepted but later declined the offer because he accepted another position closer to his home.
Next steps: a formal backhoe contract will be presented at the next meeting; police-vehicle and emergency-vehicle invoice items were added to the upcoming agenda for follow-up.
