Wymore creates separate MFO account for fire funds, approves hires and fire department officers

Wymore — At its Nov. 20 meeting the Wymore City Council voted to create a separate MFO account to track and monitor funds used for fire protection and operations. The motion by Max Allen, seconded by Neil Van Boening, carried 4-0; councilors discussed account signers and said the account will mirror existing city account structure.
The council also approved firefighter appointments: Nolan Zimmerman as firefighter and Ellasyn Kotinek as cadet firefighter. Motion carried 4-0. Fire Chief Mark Meints described officer-tenure requirements (two years for an officer post, three years for chief) and noted the truck foreman had been recently elected. Council approved the department officers: Mark Meints as Chief, Collin Meints as 1st Assistant Chief, Trevor Kujath as 2nd Assistant Chief, Zach Borzekofski as Safety Training Officer, Nick Kotinek as Truck Foreman and Rylee Meints as Assistant Truck Foreman; the motion carried 4-0.
City Treasurer Krystal Rutti recommended the fire department add a line item for transfers and noted such transfers must be voted on at fiscal year end; the council asked the auditor to meet with the council at a future meeting to explain the transfer process. Councilman Max Allen later retrieved the EMS Trust Fund checkbook and bank cards and placed them in the safe; two cards had expired and two checkbooks were noted.
