Wymore council approves new firefighter and clerk training; some fire-related items tabled

The Wymore City Council on Dec. 18 approved Nicholas Beekman as a new member of the Wymore Fire Department after the mayor introduced him and he answered council questions.
The council also approved travel and training for city clerk Janet Riensche, including attendance at Clerks Institute and Academy and SEACA meetings scheduled for Feb. 20, 2025; Apr. 17, 2025 (the city will host that meeting); Aug. 21, 2025; Oct. 16, 2025 and Dec. 11, 2025. The motion to approve her attendance and hosting carried 3-0.
Council tabled discussion on Fire B & E, Money Market and MFO until the Jan. 15, 2025 meeting. City Superintendent Tim Sedlacek reported that several utility vehicles involved in the fire may be totaled and provided an update on building-repair plans related to the north shop.
