Lebanon City to accept 0.029-acre dedication from resident to widen Canton Street
Summary
Council will be asked to accept a deed dedicating about 0.029 acres (three feet of frontage) from David Drummond so Canton Street meets frontage access requirements for a proposed subdivision to convert a carriage house into a separate single-family dwelling; the mayor said the cartway is already widened and inspected.

The mayor described a proposed resolution for the city to accept a deed of dedication from David Drummond for roughly 0.029 acres (approximately three feet of land on Canton Street) to widen the cartway so a carriage house can be subdivided and converted to a single-family dwelling.
“He's giving up three feet of his land … and he's already made the improvements and it's already been inspected by the engineer,” the mayor said, explaining the dedication would let the city update records and recognize the widened right-of-way. The mayor compared the request to a prior property owner’s donation to adjust a turn radius at Ninth and Maple.
Staff asked who would carry the deed-acceptance resolution to Monday's council meeting; Council member Karen agreed to carry the item. A council member asked whether further work remained; the mayor said no — the deed is for recording the dedication and updating records.
No vote was recorded during the pre-council meeting; the deed and resolution will appear on the June 22 council agenda for formal action.
