The Borough of North Haledon agreed to amend its small cell antenna ordinance to include a fee schedule after Mayor Randy George said the borough already has the ordinance but lacks fee language. Council signaled unanimous support to add fees to the ordinance.
Borough Engineer Joseph Pomante said Michael DeMarco’s letter to T‑Mobile produced some renewed movement on a proposed cell tower installation; Pomante said he will scope the required work and solicit vendor quotes. Council Member George Pomianek asked for authority to proceed with scoping; Pomante confirmed he will scope and solicit vendor estimates.
Recreation projects were also discussed: basketball court fencing is being installed and pickup of pole-setting continues; tennis court rehabilitation began with post removal and milling and requires about a 20‑day cure before coating and fence work. Council discussed pickleball court fencing concepts and said fencing likely will not be installed until after North Haledon Day; court painting has been completed and the courts are already in use.
No formal vote on telecommunications infrastructure was recorded in the work session minutes; council directed staff to prepare ordinance language for fees and authorized the engineer to scope work and seek quotes for the cell tower.
