The Borough of North Haledon listed a consent agenda item recommending award of the High Mountain School playground rehabilitation contract to Percino Giordano, LLC, with the work funded by an Open Space grant. Borough Engineer Joseph Pomante told the council that four bids were received and his office and the borough attorney reviewed them before recommending the award.
The consent agenda (Consent Agenda #8‑2021) also included receipt of the annual audit, award of contract for the international fireworks display, a municipal call to reinstate the state and local tax (SALT) deduction, a permit fee refund request for 38 Morningside Avenue, raffle licenses, tax overpayment and a tax lien redemption. Council members were asked to review the audit document; Councilwoman Donna Puglisi noted that the audit had no recommendations for the first year.
Pomante described the playground work as focused on drainage repairs and safety improvements. Funding by an Open Space grant was cited; the engineer said the borough received four bids and recommended awarding the contract to Percino Giordano, LLC. The award was listed on the meeting agenda for formal consideration at the council meeting.
No formal roll‑call vote on the playground award was recorded in the work session minutes. The council did open and close a public comment period at the start of the session; no members of the public spoke.
The next procedural step is the council meeting when listed agenda and consent items, including the playground award, will be scheduled for formal action.
