North Haledon council confirms mayoral appointments, approves temporary budget and multiple service contracts

Mayor Randy George presented the mayoral appointments and the council concurred by motion. De Marco (Borough Attorney; retainer plus hourly proposal), Boswell Engineering (Borough Engineer), Kauker & Kauker (Borough Planner), and Wielkotz & Company (Borough Auditor), among many board and commission placements. Council members voted unanimously to concur with the slate.
Council also adopted Resolution #5-2021, a temporary 2021 budget setting interim appropriation levels consistent with N.J.S. 40A:4-19; the temporary budget schedule shown in the record lists temporary appropriation amounts across departments totaling $3,763,926.92 for the initial period. The council approved the Cash Management Plan and authorized payment of bills by designated signatories.

Every listed appointment and contract was approved by unanimous roll-call vote as recorded in the minutes. The council also confirmed 2021 fire official and inspector appointments (James Booth as Fire Official; Jack Decker and Richard Brain as Fire Inspectors) and designated Renate Elatab as Municipal Housing Liaison.
These actions set administrative, legal and fiscal authorities for municipal operations in 2021 and authorized staff to post agendas and manage contract encumbrances consistent with state law.
