The Town of Dennis Board of Health approved a variance June 11 for a 12-by-18 addition at 9 Division Street in Dennisport for the David and Rosemary L. Goodman Family Trust, with conditions including submission of revised floor plans.
Asa Mitts, AJM Site Design (speaker 4), said the half-acre property sits near Seaview Park, has an existing conventional septic system installed about 2016 and good groundwater separation (reported roughly 7–8 feet). He told the board the proposed addition will be used as an office and pantry. Mitts said nitrogen loading "is right around 10" and that mitigation plantings are planned near the wetland edge.
A board member (speaker 2) raised concern that the five-foot cased opening as drawn could make it easy to add a door into the office; Mitts agreed to provide a revised floor plan showing a true five-foot cased opening to address the layout. The motion to approve the variance (with conditions including submission of revised plans and conditions 3 and 5 from the memorandum) was moved, seconded and passed by unanimous vote.
The chair instructed staff to hold the variance approval for pickup by the applicant's representative.
