Klamath County commissioners approve contracts, appointments and proclaim March Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month

Klamath Falls, Ore. — The Klamath County Board of Commissioners on March 3 approved a set of routine contracts and appointments, unanimously authorizing a demolition contract, two community-corrections agreements and several board appointments, and proclaimed March 2026 Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.
The actions were taken during a roughly 23-minute business meeting in Room 219 at the county building. Commissioners Nichols, Minty and DeGroot voted unanimously on recorded items that included appointments and construction and service contracts.
The approvals included appointing Claudia Steen to the Green Knoll Estates Special Road District Board (OR2026-039) and naming Margot Durand, Charles Gray and Trenton Utley to the Klamath County Elected Officials Compensation Committee (OR2026-040). The board also approved a contract with NW Construction General Contracting Inc. for abatement and demolition of 3319 South 6th St., known as the HUB; Property Manager Terry Wells presented that item and the board recorded a unanimous vote to approve the contract.
Community Corrections presented two items. The board approved an agreement between LNS Construction Inc. and Klamath County Community Corrections and also approved a memorandum of understanding between Community Corrections and Klamath Basin Behavioral Health to collaborate through the Deflection Program; Dennis Holmes addressed the board on both items and motions to approve were recorded as unanimous.
Finance staff presented the agenda item for 2025 Grasshopper and Mormon Cricket Mitigation Grant Program reimbursement payments; the item was placed on the agenda and read into the record. Commissioner Minty read a proclamation recognizing Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, and Heidi Gaither of the county's Developmental Disabilities Services thanked the board for the proclamation.
