Superintendent outlines strategic planning, safety upgrades and facility projects

Dr. Moore, Tri-Township Cons School Corp superintendent, told the board on Dec. 23 that strategic planning efforts are continuing and that the district received 15 applicants for a Student Advisory Council representing grades 6–12.
She said the district will host regular public tours (designated for the last Friday of each month with additional scheduling available by appointment), will work with a media company for a community mailer, and plans a Pre-K and kindergarten roundup before spring break. Dr. Moore also described planned signage and banners to increase visibility along Highway 421.
On safety and operations, Dr. Moore reported updates to bus routing, updated bus cameras, and an upgrade to the card-reading system. The district's new Safe Visitor System is in place and staff have initiated training with Sandy Hook Promise. She said track work will continue as weather allows, junior and senior restrooms are nearly complete, and the district is seeking estimates to convert a barn space into an athletic area. The LaCrosse school building remains encumbered by bonds, which Dr. Moore said limits the district's ability to sell, rent or otherwise alter that property.
The superintendent did not propose final policy changes at this meeting; the board completed first readings of Policy 4402 (Use of Metal Detectors) and Policy 6110 (Federal Grants and Awards Administration) but took no final action on those items.
The district will proceed with follow-up scheduling and project estimates; the minutes list the Board Organizational Meeting for Jan. 13, 2025 and the next regular meeting on Jan. 27, 2025.
