Upland manager to study geocaching on town land; town to remove old school buildings near elementary

Town Manager Jonathan Perez told the council on Sept. 17 that the town has received a request to allow geocaching on municipal properties and that he has been tasked with preparing an advantages-and-disadvantages list for council consideration. Perez said the item will return for further discussion after staff review.
Perez also said the town will coordinate with Eastbrook Community Schools to remove old buildings located across from the elementary school and to dismantle fencing and other school-owned infrastructure on that property as part of planned site improvements.
No council vote on geocaching or on the school-property work was recorded; both items were presented as staff actions to be developed further.
