Tri-Township board approves consent agenda, records resignations and staff adjustments

The Tri-Township Consolidated School Corporation Board of School Trustees voted on July 22 to approve the consent agenda, including the June 24 meeting minutes, financial reports, claims and payroll, and the personnel report.
Board President Tim Guse opened the meeting. Aaron Rust moved to approve the minutes; Chad Howell seconded and the motion passed with all members voting in favor. Similar motions to approve the financial reports, claims, payroll and personnel report were made by Rust, seconded by board members and recorded as "ALL AYES."
The personnel report recorded certified resignations effective for the 2024–25 school year: Jacob Hepner resigned as business teacher effective July 26, 2024; Sydney Wehde resigned as preschool teacher effective July 26, 2024. The board also noted the resignation of Loudon Becker as softball coach, effective July 26, 2024, and approved an employment-status change for Theresa McArdle to become a 12‑month Administrative Assistant effective Aug. 1, 2024.
The board approved a revision to the Head of Maintenance & Custodial position vacation accrual language, changing the policy to add one additional vacation day for each year worked up to a 15‑day maximum, effective Aug. 1, 2024.
Principal McMahan told the board that summer professional development and new assessment data will be used to inform the school improvement plan. "The knowledge they learned will assist us in supporting our students," he said. The district reported end-of-year enrollment of 303 students and said open enrollment is ongoing.
The board adjourned after routine board comments and thanks to Superintendent Dr. Moore for her work since joining the district.
