ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. ' The Arlington Heights School District 25 Board of Education used the start of its June 16 meeting to spotlight student achievement, recognizing winners of a fifth-grade book-trailer film festival and several state track-and-field qualifiers from South and Thomas Middle Schools.
Superintendent Dr. Fitzpatrick introduced the book-trailer winners and thanked the LMC teachers who organized the contest. "We are grateful for Eleanor who is being recognized this evening for the fifth grade book trailer film festival winning team," Dr. Fitzpatrick said as the district presented awards and invited winners for a photo with the board.
Coaches from South and Thomas brought teams and individual athletes to the dais to recognize records and state finishes, including a second-place high jump (Marley Camdella), a school-record 4x1 relay, and several school and state records noted by coaches. Coaches and board members offered congratulations and applause.
The board also acknowledged PTA and ABC25 Foundation reports and thanked volunteers and staff for their summer programming and events.
Next steps: Award winners and coaches were photographed and the district will list recognitions on its website; no board action was required.
