Superintendent outlines strategic-planning timeline and safety upgrades for Tri-Township Schools

At the Nov. 25 meeting of the Tri-Township Consolidated School Corporation Board, Superintendent Dr. Moore described a multi-stage strategic-planning process and detailed recent and planned safety upgrades.

Strategic planning: Dr. Moore said she is creating a Superintendent/Student Advisory Council for grades 6–12, with the first meeting planned for January. In January she will meet with small staff groups to develop core values, an environmental scan, and short- and long-term goals; family engagement sessions are scheduled for February and March to gather stakeholder input.

Safety and operational updates: Dr. Moore reported immediate safety measures already implemented, including double-locked front doors and a new visitor check-in system, along with updates to safety plans and evacuation routes. She also said the district is working on bus camera software updates and intends to form a multidisciplinary threat assessment team to evaluate and respond to safety concerns.

Facilities and project timing: Dr. Moore noted athletic facility planning is underway and that the district will solicit bids for related work. Track repairs will continue through the new year with a pause for the winter and a planned resumption around March.

Context and next steps: The superintendent’s remarks followed a public question seeking clarification about the Sandy Hook Promise MOU and a joint special-education agreement; Dr. Moore provided that clarification during the public-comment portion of the meeting.
