Broken Bow City Council accepts $65,100 bid for city lot, reappoints city engineer and street superintendent

Mayor Rod Sonnichsen called the Broken Bow City Council to order at 6:00 p.m. on Nov. 9, 2021, at the Broken Bow Public Library and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Councilmembers Jacob Holcomb, David Schmidt, Chris Myers and Larry Miller were present.
Councilmember Larry Miller moved to approve the consent agenda, including the minutes of the Oct. 26, 2021 meeting and the bills as posted; Councilmember David Schmidt seconded the motion. The council approved the consent agenda by unanimous roll-call vote. The bills presented that evening totaled $150,271.12.
City Administrator Dan Knoell opened two sealed bids for the sale of College Estates Block 1 Lot 2. Kem and Lance Oatman, representing V-Bar Inc., submitted a bid of $61,555.00; Christopher Myers, representing Premier Storage, LLC, submitted a bid of $65,100.00. Councilmember David Schmidt moved to accept the Premier Storage bid of $65,100.00; Councilmember Jacob Holcomb seconded. The motion carried with Schmidt, Holcomb and Miller voting aye and Christopher Myers abstaining from the vote.
The council also approved two personnel-related appointments for 2022. Councilmember Jacob Holcomb moved to reappoint JEO Consulting Group, Inc. as the city engineer for 2022; Councilmember Larry Miller seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Councilmember Larry Miller moved to reappoint Steven Parr (JEO Consulting Group, License S-859, Class A) as the street superintendent for the term Jan. 1, 2022, to Dec. 31, 2022; Councilmember Jacob Holcomb seconded and the council approved the motion by unanimous roll-call vote.
Councilmember Jacob Holcomb moved and Councilmember Larry Miller seconded approval of Resolution 2021-22, authorizing the mayor to sign the Year-End Certification of City Street Superintendent 2021 form; the motion carried on a roll-call vote with Holcomb, Schmidt, Miller and Myers voting aye.
Councilmember Jacob Holcomb moved to adjourn at 6:45 p.m.; Councilmember Larry Miller seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The meeting record is signed by Mayor Rod Sonnichsen and attested by City Clerk Kandi Peters.
