Paul Holland appointed to Board of Public Works; council accepts Jacob Holcomb’s resignation

Councilmember Larry Miller moved, and David Schmidt seconded, to appoint Paul Holland to the Board of Public Works for a three‑year term ending in June 2025; the motion passed unanimously. Later in the meeting Mayor Rod Sonnichsen read Holcomb’s resignation letter; Councilmember Schmidt moved to accept the resignation, Miller seconded, and the council accepted it (Ayes: Myers, Schmidt, Miller; Abstain: Holcomb).
The minutes record council gratitude for Holcomb’s service; no replacement appointment was made at the Jan. 11 meeting and the council will need to address the resulting vacancy and any board reassignments in a future session.
