Granville board ratifies court audit, appoints Pember trustees and OKs park event

The Granville Village Board completed routine business at its July 7 meeting, ratifying an audit of the Village Justice Court, appointing three trustees to the Pember Library & Museum and approving an application to use Veterans Park for a Sept. 7 concert to benefit Operation Adopt-a-Soldier.
Trustee Denise Davies reported she reviewed the court’s receipts and procedures on May 30 using a New York State Justice Court template and found the court’s financial records in order; the Board ratified her audit by roll call vote. The Board also approved appointing Annora McGarry Aldous, Jerry McKinney and Stephanie Munger to three-year terms on the Pember Library & Museum board following a recommendation from Library Secretary Jerry McKinney and Trustee Heather Leaman’s endorsement.
The Board approved Philip Hoyt’s request to use Veterans Park on Sunday, Sept. 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., for a concert benefiting Operation Adopt-a-Soldier; Trustee Heather Leaman moved approval and Trustee Paul Garrone seconded. During closing remarks Deputy Mayor Dean Hyatt praised summer maintenance, raised concerns about how State aid is allocated to municipalities, and Trustee Denise Davies thanked Van Ripers Greenhouse for donated flowers and New Creation Church parishioners for maintaining them. The meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
