The Village of Granville Board on June 2 approved claims totaling $93,349.14 and, after an executive session, unanimously hired Colby Hayes as a part-time Department of Public Works laborer at $20 per hour.
Deputy Mayor Dean Hyatt moved approval of the audited claims — General Fund $29,888.16, Water $26,367.43, Sewer $36,069.49, Senior Shuttle $918.12 and unaudited vouchers $105.94 — and Trustee Denise Davies seconded. The motion to pay the claims carried unanimously.
The board convened an executive session at 7:10 p.m. to discuss a potential part-time DPW hire and returned to open session at 7:55 p.m. Deputy Mayor Hyatt then moved to hire Colby Hayes at $20 per hour; Trustee Heather Leaman seconded the motion, and the board approved the hiring unanimously.
The actions recorded at the meeting show the board treated both items as routine business: the claim approvals followed the standard audit and motion process, and the hiring was finalized by a board vote immediately after the executive-session discussion. No additional conditions or staggered start dates were specified during the public portion of the meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
