County facilities staff outline backflow repairs, roof fixes and parking work

Miss Shannon, speaking to the board, summarized a cluster of facilities and maintenance items the county has scheduled through late June.

She said backflow repairs at the record center are scheduled to begin on June 30 at 7:30 a.m. and will require a water shutoff there; the administration building repair will then be completed using a bypass so the administration building’s water should not be shut off. "The fix will begin on the 30th after the record center is going to be complete," Miss Shannon said, and cautioned that each location could involve a couple of hours of work depending on conditions.

Miss Shannon also reported that roof repairs at the Juvenile Detention Center were completed the week of June 8. The Kent Courthouse backflow repair is scheduled for June 26 at 7:30 a.m.; she said the court was notified and Judge Poland has approved the timing. She noted crews missed a spot at the Revena Courthouse earlier because a vehicle was parked in the work area and that crews will return to finish paving when possible. Parking-lot resurfacing for lots C and F was rescheduled because crews could not fit the work into the originally planned weekend window; additional time around the Fourth of July weekend was mentioned to accommodate scheduling.

These items were presented as informational updates; no votes changing scope or funding for the repairs were recorded in the meeting minutes. The county identified specific dates for contractor work and staff follow-up so residents and court users could anticipate brief service interruptions.
