The Planning Commission unanimously approved four street names proposed for the Northpointe workforce-housing development.
Deputy Fire Chief Johida Pfister explained that the fire department and the town's 9-1-1 center oversee addressing to avoid duplications that could delay emergency response: "it directly affects our 911, response," she said. Kathleen Glitchfield, the 9-1-1 communications manager, presented the recommended names'Northpointe Circle, Fairfield Station, Dunebrook Court and Fencliff Trail'and explained how each name met the Land Management Ordinance criteria (historical association, references to natural features, or long-standing use).
Commissioners had no public questions, a motion was made to approve the names as submitted, and the measure passed unanimously by voice vote.
What happens next: The approved street names will be recorded and used for addressing in permitting and 911 systems.
