The Norton Shores City Council unanimously approved routine minutes, a consent agenda of administrative items and the annual pay plan for Management, Professional, Technical and Clerical (MPTC) employees during its June 2 regular meeting at the Norton Shores Branch Library.
Council Member Jurkas moved to approve minutes from the May 19 and May 26 meetings; Council Member Fisher seconded and the motions carried unanimously. Council Member Sowa then moved to approve the consent agenda, which included authorizing bids for a Training Center remodel, approving the Mona Lake channel rip-rap installation, adopting a short-term rental fine schedule, and discharging a CDBG lien for 1162 Englewood Avenue; the motion, supported by Council Member Jurkas, passed unanimously.
Council Member Kasher moved to approve the annual MPTC pay plan as presented; Council Member Hylland supported the motion and it passed without opposition. City Administrator Anthony Chandler later thanked the council for approving the pay plan and noted the administration will next discuss the Teamsters contract in closed session.
The council handled these routine administrative items early in the meeting and moved on to land-use, utility-rate and public-works matters later in the agenda.
