The Planning Board approved an amended site development plan June 16 allowing two detached and five attached garages to serve previously approved rental units at the Villas at Vista (920 Oakridge Commons, South Salem).
Joe Rodriguez, the project partner attending in place of Bobby Ebert, told the board the applicant had obtained necessary fire‑department review and submitted revised plans and that the outstanding items were minor. A June 15 fire‑department letter — read into the record — stated that because the building is fully sprinklered and rear access remains available, the fire department had "no objection to the roadway being returned to the front of the building as shown on the revised plan," provided that the roadway to the dry hydrant be maintained and plowed in winter to ensure fire apparatus access. Building Inspector Kevin Kelly confirmed compliance with applicable requirements; the board voted to approve the amended resolution with the condition that detached garages be reserved for the exclusive use of residents of the approved rental units.
