The Town of Lewisboro Planning Board voted June 16 to approve site development plan, town stormwater, and special use permits for a parish house at 13 Smith Ridge Road in South Salem.
Jan Johannessen, the planner who reviewed the application, told the board the parcel is a 4‑acre lot in the R‑2A zoning district and that the project had been reviewed by the Westchester County Department of Health. He said the Planning Board had opened and closed a public hearing in May and that the project is a Type II action under SEQRA. "Places of worship including parish houses are especially permitted in that underlying zoning district," Johannessen said while running through the resolution.
Building Inspector Kevin Kelly stated on the record that the submission is compliant with applicable codes. The resolution includes a condition that the facility be used solely as a parish house and may not be sold or leased for other uses. The board approved the resolution by voice vote.
