Multiple residents during agenda public comment — including Robin Diggs — said the draft, notice and proof of publication had been inadequate and raised concerns about data centers, solar projects and potential impacts on water, electricity, dust and wildlife. Several residents urged the county to hold the workshop in the evening and at a venue large enough to accommodate public attendance; one commenter suggested the Boys & Girls Club or a firehouse to accommodate greater turnout.
The board voted to set the workshop for Aug. 3 at 9 a.m. and directed staff to publish formal notice and the workshop framework in advance. Commissioners and staff acknowledged public requests for broader outreach and said they would work to provide meeting logistics and materials ahead of the workshop.
