Planning board forwards amendments to Selectmen for three town ordinances

Gwen Hilton, chair of the Starks Planning Board, opened a public hearing Nov. 6 and summarized proposed amendments to the town's Appeals Board Ordinance, Site Plan Review Ordinance and Wireless Telecommunications Facilities Ordinance. Guests offered no public comments, and the hearing was closed.
The board then voted, by motion and second, to forward the draft amendments to the Selectmen with the Planning Board's recommendation to approve. The transcript records that the motion "carried" but does not include a roll-call vote or individual tallies. The board noted the amendments will be slated for a floor vote at the Annual Town Meeting on March 8, 2025.
The meeting record states that adequate public notice was given, a quorum was present, and no conflicts of interest or bias were reported. Earlier in the meeting the board approved the minutes of Oct. 2 and Oct. 16, 2024, by unanimous consent. Claire Nelson, listed in the minutes as secretary, signed the record.
Board members also set upcoming meeting dates: the December meeting was announced as canceled unless new business arises, and the January meeting will be held Jan. 8, 2025 rather than on New Year's Day. The meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
