Stetson selectmen approve payrolls, expenditures, new office computer and change bank signatory

At their Aug. 14, 2024 meeting, the Town of Stetson Selectmen unanimously approved routine payrolls and expenditures, authorized a new office computer purchase from ARPA funds, signed cemetery deeds, and changed the town’s bank signatories after an executive session.
The meeting opened at 6:00 p.m. with Selectman Jody Lyford leading the Pledge of Allegiance. Selectmen Tammy Buswell and Leslie Merrill joined Lyford for a full quorum; Millard Butler and Gene Trojano were recorded absent.
The board moved to approve the prior meeting’s minutes as listed on the agenda (motion by Selectman Tammy Buswell; second by Selectman Leslie Merrill) and then voted unanimously to approve Bangor Payroll #2, Bangor Payroll #3 and Expenditures #4. During the Expenditures #4 discussion, Selectman Tammy Buswell asked where funds for ‘Otto’ related to toters were drawn from; no additional detail on the funding source was recorded in the minutes.
Under old business the board voted unanimously to purchase one new office computer listed on the ARPA wish list (motion by Selectman Tammy Buswell; second by Selectman Leslie Merrill). The Meeting House assessment was reported to be on file in the town office with an estimated cost of $31,750.
Cemetery deeds for Perry and Leighton were signed by the board as part of routine administrative business.
The board also appointed Kathi Ward as the town librarian on a motion by Selectman Jody Lyford, seconded by Selectman Leslie Merrill; the motion carried unanimously.
The meeting adjourned following an executive session. The board voted to enter executive session under the authority recorded as '405-6(A)' at 7:53 p.m. and left at 8:30 p.m.; after recess the board unanimously voted (motion by Selectman Jody Lyford; second by Selectman Tammy Buswell) to remove Darla Merrithew from the Maine Savings Bank accounts and to add Karen Wilber as a signatory.
