Stetson selectmen unanimously approve 3.2% pay raise, authorize ARPA purchases and clear warrants

Stetson selectmen unanimously approved a 3.2% cost-of-living raise for listed payroll employees after a brief executive session during their Sept. 11, 2024 meeting.
The board entered executive session under 405-6(A) at 6:54 p.m. and returned at 7:03 p.m. After the session, on a motion by Selectman Tammy Buswell and seconded by Selectman Gene Trojano the board voted unanimously to grant the listed payroll employees a 3.2% raise.
The meeting included several routine approvals. On motions by Selectman Tammy Buswell, seconded by Selectman Leslie Merrill, the board approved the Aug. 28, 2024 meeting minutes unanimously and approved Bangor Payroll #5 unanimously while noting the top of that warrant was mislabeled as “Payroll 4.” The board also approved Expenditures #7, #8 and #9 on unanimous votes.
The board voted 3-0 to approve the Aug. 14, 2024 minutes on a motion by Buswell and second by Merrill; Selectmen Gene Trojano and Millard Butler recorded abstentions on that item.
On items funded or partially funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), the board unanimously approved purchasing a second computer for the Code Enforcement Office (motion by Tammy Buswell, second by Gene Trojano). They also unanimously approved purchasing 100 additional toters and agreed that any overage above the original $40,000 figure approved at Town Meeting would be covered from ARPA funds.
Other agenda items were tabled or removed: discussion of a sign, the meeting-house podium and Unit 3 heating were tabled; updated rental agreements were removed from the agenda after Tammy Buswell revised them. The Board of Assessors noted plans to commit taxes at its next meeting, though no date was specified.
The meeting closed with a motion by Selectman Tammy Buswell, seconded by Selectman Leslie Merrill to adjourn at 7:04 p.m.; the motion passed unanimously. Minutes were respectfully submitted by Danielle Davis.
