At its Sept. 16 meeting, the Sullivan Selectboard approved several administrative and policy actions, including a change to its regular meeting schedule and adoption of town codes of conduct.
Norman Bamford moved to change the board’s regular meetings to the first and third Tuesdays at 5:00 p.m., beginning Oct. 1; Erin Shanahan seconded and the motion passed 2-0. Erin Shanahan had requested the change because of a work conflict.
The Selectboard adopted three code-of-conduct policies for the Town Office, Selectboard meetings and town events after a motion from Shanahan; Bamford seconded and the measure passed 2-0. Town Manager Ray Weintraub had directed the board to review the policies, which were recommended following installation of security cameras at the Town Office.
On operational purchases, the board approved a $521 upgrade to increase archived security video storage to 30 days (motion by Erin Shanahan; second by Norman Bamford; passed 2-0). The board also approved issuing two prepaid credit cards for Sullivan Fire Department chiefs with $500 credit lines each for emergency purchases, contingent on inclusion in the purchasing policy (motion by Norman Bamford; second by Erin Shanahan; passed 2-0).
Norman Bamford moved to close the Town Office from Dec. 24, 2024, through Jan. 1, 2025, with reopening on Jan. 2 and limited hours Jan. 3; Erin Shanahan seconded and the motion passed 2-0.
The board directed Town Manager Ray Weintraub to develop a job description and gather details for a Road Commissioner position after Bamford noted the town needs someone with more experience for that role; the motion passed 2-0. Several routine items — approval of the Sept. 3 minutes and signing the treasurer’s warrant — were also completed.
