Committee members reported on the recent Aquatic Camp and planned Fall Family Fun Day.
Aquatic Camp served 27 children, including seven full-time Sullivan residents. Friends of Taunton Bay provided three full scholarships and the town provided five reduced-fee spots. The camp produced an approximate $250 surplus, which members said could be used to cover snack costs that Friends of Taunton Bay had previously borne. The committee described the camp as a success.
Separately, the Selectboard approved a Fall Family Fun Day for Oct. 12. Yvette Grindle said volunteers are needed; proceeds would help retire the cost of the tent. Firefighters will again provide grilling. The committee discussed reusing the bounce-house, adding a permanent fire ring at Sumner Park or placing the bonfire on the road before the horse trough, and whether to add temporary gravel or construct a permanent fire pit. Members also considered pay-for-use large games and a small fee for private park reservations, tennis-equipment donations available for rent, and a digital reservation system for courts and tents as ways to increase program offerings and revenue.
The library board informally asked whether the book walk could be placed around the playground perimeter; the committee will await a formal request and take a vote. Members also noted the playground lacks any picnic tables and suggested acquiring one. The committee recorded these items for follow-up but did not take formal votes in the minutes.
