Town Manager Ray Weintraub reported on the town’s recent MMA insurance inspection and outlined steps the town must take to address safety and maintenance items. Weintraub said the inspection identified a cluttered basement that requires clearing and that the salt shed should be inspected by an engineer. He said he contacted Bethany Leavitt, who provided referrals to engineers.
Weintraub also raised several vegetation and roadside concerns: overgrown trees and brush on Thorne Road, at the intersection with Tunk Lake, around Donnell Pond, along Transfer Station Road, and along the power line at the Transfer Station, which he said is causing issues with the power supply. Weintraub said he contacted a local vendor (DM&J) to provide a large dumpster to remove basement items.
The board did not vote on funding at the meeting; Weintraub will supply follow-up information on engineering and cleanup plans.
