During department reports, Marshal Jason McGlennen said Kole (the K-9) is training and that training will generate overtime beyond the town policy cap of 10 hours. Tonya Conley said the policy caps approval at 10 hours without council authorization; Nichole Taylor moved to approve the overtime while training and to have Tonya pay the submitted overtime. Medard (Hugh) Murfin seconded; the motion carried.
The marshal reported finding a used cage for the patrol car for the K-9 at a cost of $1,500 plus installation. Council gave permission to purchase and install the cage.
Separately, the council approved Resolution 26-01-05 establishing the canine donation fund, with Nichole Taylor making the first motion and Medard Murfin seconding; the motion carried.
