Council accepts DLZ contract to use $300,000 CCMG award to repave Main Street

Utility Supervisor Kent Slater told the council the remaining award stems from the 2024-1 bid coming in lower than projected and that the town can apply the balance to an additional partial street repaving in 2025. Councilman Brock Waterson moved to accept the DLZ contract and letter proposal; Councilman Trey Weber seconded and the motion passed 3-0.
The council did not record further specifics about the construction schedule or whether additional local matching funds will be required; Slater earlier reported that APIis expected to complete its current construction work by Thanksgiving. The council indicated the project will be carried under the 2024-2 CCMG contract administered through DLZ.
The council did not expand the CCMG acronym in the minutes; the contract acceptance was entered as a formal motion and the town will post further meeting notices as details are finalized.
The council set the towns final 2024 meeting for Dec. 23 at 4:30 p.m.; no vote was required on the scheduling change.
