South Whitley council approves $315,374.71 in APVs, payrolls and Fall Festival street closure

At its July 23 meeting the South Whitley Town Council approved accounts payable vouchers (APVs) totaling $315,374.71 and payroll for the weeks ending July 8 ($10,187.01), July 15 ($12,357.22) and July 22 ($10,738.39). Councilman Trey Weber moved to approve each item and Council Vice President Brock Waterson seconded; each motion passed 2‑0.
The council also approved a motion to allow town streets to be used during the Fall Festival and to close State Street from Sept. 25 to Sept. 29. Brock Waterson moved the closure agreement; Trey Weber seconded and the motion passed 2‑0.
Why it matters: The APV and payroll approvals authorize payment of town expenses and salaries; the Fall Festival street closure provides authorization for event logistics and street management.
The clerk said she will pursue options for a new Town Hall sign at a later date.
