The South Whitley Town Council on Sept. 10 tabled the 2025 budget hearing until its next meeting on Sept. 24 after council members identified uncertainty about one amount in the draft budget.
Council President Randy Cokl announced the postponement during new business; the minutes say the hearing was delayed "because of uncertainty about one of the amounts included in the budget." No motion to adopt the budget was taken at the Sept. 10 meeting.
The postponement gives staff time to clarify the questioned figure and present any corrected totals at the Sept. 24 meeting. The council did not set any additional deadlines for adopting the budget in the minutes for Sept. 10.
The council adjourned at 7:20 p.m.; the budget hearing is scheduled to resume Sept. 24.
