The Town of Spring Grove board on Oct. 14 adopted a 2026 budget totaling $168,129 and approved a $21,000 additional appropriation into the Motor Vehicles Fund.
Clerk‑Treasurer Jenney Holthouse presented the September financial statements and the proposed 2026 budget. Annemarie Chasteen moved to adopt the budget as presented at the public hearing in September; Lisa VanDevender seconded. The motion carried unanimously among the four members present: Doug Brenneke, Annemarie Chasteen, Lisa VanDevender and Robert Erbse. The notice for the additional appropriation into the Motor Vehicles Fund had been published Sept. 24, 2025; Chasteen moved approval and VanDevender seconded, and the board voted unanimously to approve the $21,000 appropriation.
The minutes record that these actions followed routine presentation of financials; no changes to the tax rate or specific line‑item reallocations beyond the Motor Vehicles Fund appropriation were recorded in the minutes. The board also approved the previous month’s minutes earlier in the meeting.
Next procedural steps recorded in the minutes: members will continue routine oversight at the November meeting. The board tabled further substantive discussion of the proposed 2026 fire contract with the City of Richmond until November.
