Karafin School amendment: board seeks on-site review with Fire Chief, requests resolution for August 13

The Mount Kisco Planning Board on June 25 reviewed a site-plan amendment for The Karafin School at 272 N. Bedford Road and requested additional on-site review of circulation and safety.
Taylor Palmer of Cuddy & Feder and Rick Bolander of JMC described the project and said they are negotiating an easement with a neighboring property owner. Bolander detailed proposed circulation and queuing measures; the applicants said faculty will be present during drop-off and pick-up to manage flow.
Board members and staff queried parking counts and discussed the Temporary Certificate of Compliance. To address circulation and emergency-access questions, the Planning Board requested that the applicant's traffic consultant meet with the Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department chief on site. The board also directed planning staff to prepare a resolution for consideration at the August 13, 2024 meeting.
The board did not take a final vote at the June 25 meeting; the requested site visit and the August 13 resolution preparation were recorded as the next procedural steps.
