Hickory council confirms multiple appointments and reappointments to boards and commissions

The Hickory City Council on Tuesday confirmed multiple appointments and reappointments across the city’s boards and commissions.
Council members announced reappointments including Pam Walters (Public Art Commission), Phyllis Micho and Brenda Ramsur (Community Relations Council), Robert Leiski (Hickory Regional Planning Commission), Melissa Alderman (Public Art Commission), and others. The council also named several new or reappointed members for parks, recreation and sports tourism, the university commission and youth council roles.
Councilors moved and seconded the nominations as presented and approved them unanimously. The clerk was asked to verify names and eligibility for several listed appointments during the motion.
No public comment was made on the appointments at the meeting; follow‑up for formal appointment letters and commission onboarding will be handled by city staff.
