At the June 18 work session the council reviewed multiple consent items and voted to enter executive session on an economic development matter; staff will return items to the June 22 agenda for formal action.
The Hoover City Council convened a June 18 work session to walk through items scheduled for the June 22 meeting. Staff presented consent-agenda items, contracts and ordinance revisions and answered council questions across insurance renewals, IT licensing, personnel policy changes, budget amendments and zoning modifications. No final votes on consent items were taken at the work session; several items were placed on the June 22 agenda pending requested supporting documentation.
The only formal action recorded at the June 18 work session was a motion to adjourn to executive session to discuss an economic development matter. The clerk called the roll and four council members (Schultz, Smith, Murphy and Council Pro Tem Tim Dre) voted in favor; with that vote the council entered executive session and did not return to open chambers that evening.
Staff agreed to circulate requested supporting documents (insurance negotiation summaries, license and cost breakdowns, personnel-policy language and cost analyses) to council before the June 22 meeting.
