Union City council approves subdivision, $500 parcel purchase for gazebo and pension MMO figures

Erie County Planning approved survey maps for subdividing 92 West High Street and combining portions into 88 and 90 West High; Councilor Osborn moved and Councilor Kerns seconded to approve the subdivision and sign the maps.
Council also approved a retroactive motion to purchase a small portion of property from 8 South Street for $500 to connect to Municipal Lot #3 for a planned gazebo; the solicitor will complete the survey and closing documents.
Borough Manager Cindy Wells reported the 2025 MMO figures: $48,029 required payment for the non‑uniform pension and $0 required payment for the police pension. Councilor Joyce moved and Councilor Kerns seconded approval of the 2024 MMO for the non‑uniform and police pensions; the motion carried unanimously.
The council additionally agreed to change regular meeting dates to the first and third Monday at 6:30 PM for Sept. 2024–Apr. 2025; next scheduled meetings were Aug. 27 and Sept. 16, 2024.
