Chairman Chad Spivey called the Sanford Parks Advisory Committee to order at 4:00 p.m.
John Dean moved to approve the minutes from October; Derek Borrell seconded the motion, and the committee unanimously approved the minutes.
On new business, Chad Spivey raised the frequency of meetings. John Dean moved to shift the committee to a bimonthly schedule; Mark Lyczkowski seconded and the motion was unanimously approved.
Caroline Jeffries, parks administrator and clerk, summarized a new brochure available to the public and listed upcoming events including The Big Rig Adventure and Busking in the ‘Boro.
John Dean raised a safety concern about lighting at parks and along the greenway, noting that it gets dark by 5:00 p.m. and that the lack of lighting limits residents’ ability to run and walk safely.
Carson Wilson moved to adjourn; Derek Borrell seconded and the committee unanimously approved adjourning the meeting. The committee set its next meeting for March 17, 2025 and intends to continue discussion of the greenway, with Chairman Spivey bringing maps and plans for review.
