LPRB discusses municipal outreach, preservation map scope and investment update

Laura Brown reported on two recent outreach events: a Cumberland County Forum for Local Land Conservation held at Dickinson College on Oct. 2, where Brown presented about the LPRB, and a Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG) managers meeting on Oct. 9 where Brown and Vincent DiFilippo presented and received audience questions. Board members said the events produced useful connections and interest among municipal leaders. Ray Palmer reported speaking with the Upper Allen Township manager and said a township commissioner expressed interest; Brown said she is awaiting a reply from the manager.
J.L. Bruner reported the board will order a new LPRB banner to support outreach. The board also discussed the township’s land-preservation map and whether it should include all preserved land in the township or only parcels preserved directly through LPRB; members raised the map’s scope as a policy choice for future action.
Board members reviewed financial statements and a PLGIT investment update; the minutes record that financials were reviewed and discussed but do not include specific dollar amounts or allocation details.
