Authority reports available sewer capacity by basin, schedules Nov. 7 budget workshop

Authority Manager James Stevens reported available sewer capacity for the township’s treatment plant and drainage basins and asked members to forward questions on the draft 2025 budget ahead of a scheduled workshop.
Stevens told the board the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) has approximately 300,000 gallons of available sewer capacity; the Middlesex drainage basin has about 200,000 gallons available; the Mechanicsburg drainage basin about 250,000 gallons; and the Hampden drainage basin approximately 7,700 gallons. The board directed Mr. Stevens to contact the affected municipalities in those drainage areas to determine whether any capital or operational cost increases are anticipated for 2025.
The Authority also noted that the first draft of the 2025 operating and capital budget has been posted; Stevens said the budget workshop is set for Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. and asked members to submit questions in advance.
