LPRB emphasizes Agricultural Security Area enrollment and outreach; discusses 1,000-acre celebration

At its Dec. 19 meeting the Land Preservation Review Board received a detailed overview of the Agricultural Security Area enrollment process and discussed website outreach and holding a celebration to mark 1,000 acres preserved.
Laura Brown provided a detailed overview of the Agricultural Security Area (ASA) application process and encouraged preserved-farm owners to pursue ASA enrollment, explaining the program provides extra protection to preserved farms.
Members discussed improving public-facing materials, including adding slides about the Board of Supervisors’ Land Preservation Incentive Program to the township website to better explain program benefits for landowners. The board also discussed planning a celebration to mark the milestone of preserving 1,000 acres; details and timing were left for future meetings.
The Kittatinny Ridge Land Protection Partnership item was tabled and will be revisited at a later date.
