Medora school board approves 2024–25 prices, personnel changes and vendor bids

The Medora Community School Corporation Board of School Trustees on Aug. 12 approved a series of routine operational items, including minutes, payroll and claims, personnel changes, facility use, a Teacher Appreciation Grant, school lunch and event pricing for 2024–25 and multiple vendor bids. Each recorded motion carried by unanimous votes of the five trustees present.
The board — Joe Campbell, Darrell Persinger, Tony Hall, Ada Reynolds and Faythe Gill — opened the public session after an earlier executive session on personnel. Tony Hall moved to approve the minutes from the July 8 meeting; Darrell Persinger seconded, and the motion passed 5-0. Faythe Gill then moved to approve the submitted claims and payroll; Tony Hall seconded and the board again approved the motion 5-0.
Mr. Bane presented the monthly budget and extracurricular reports for the board's review; the presentation was noted but did not prompt a separate vote. The board approved use of the school gym by the Brownstown Pickle Ball Association after a motion from Ada Reynolds and a second from Darrell Persinger (5-0).
Trustees also approved personnel changes (moved by Darrell Persinger, seconded by Tony Hall), accepted donations for July (moved by Ada Reynolds, seconded by Faythe Gill), and approved a Teacher Appreciation Grant (moved by Tony Hall, seconded by Darrell Persinger). All motions recorded a 5-0 outcome.
On operational procurement, the board approved school lunch and event pricing for the 2024–25 school year (motion by Darrell Persinger, second by Faythe Gill) and accepted the winning bids for diesel fuel, bus maintenance, bread, milk and other food items for 2024–25 (motion by Ada Reynolds, second by Darrell Persinger). Both motions passed unanimously.
There were no public comments and no additional items from board members. Faythe Gill moved to adjourn the meeting; Darrell Persinger seconded. The motion carried 5-0 and the meeting adjourned at 5:12 P.M.
The board did not record any votes against or any abstentions during this session.
