Medora Community School Board reorganizes leadership, approves $30,000 transfer and personnel changes

The Medora Community School Corporation board met in public session on Jan. 13, 2025, and reorganized its leadership, appointing Joe Campbell as board president, Darrell Persinger as vice‑president and Ada Reynolds as secretary. The reorganization was moved by Darrell Persinger, seconded by Tony Hall and carried unanimously (5–0).
The board also approved routine governance and financial actions. Tony Hall moved to appoint Bose, Mckinney & Evans as legal counsel and to name Abbie Huber treasurer, Teresa Brewer deputy treasurer and Michele Hedinger ECA treasurer; Ada Reynolds seconded and the motion carried 5–0. The board approved the Dec. 19, 2024 minutes and voted to accept claims and payroll as submitted.
On personnel matters, Tony Hall moved to accept the resignation of contracted physical therapist Chelsea Tabling; Faythe Gill seconded and the motion carried 5–0. The board accepted donations connected with the Christmas toy drive and the Jr./Sr. High Christmas, and approved the distribution plan for the Early Literacy Achievement Grant after a motion from Mr. Hall that Mrs. Gill seconded.
The board approved a transfer of $30,000 from the Education Fund to the Rainy Day Fund. The transfer was moved by Darrell Persinger, seconded by Ada Reynolds and carried 5–0.
After adjournment of the regular meeting at 5:06 P.M., the annual Board of Finance meeting convened. Treasurer Abbie Huber presented the report of 2024 investments and Mr. Bane reviewed the investment policy and DUAB fiscal indicators for the board's review. The Board of Finance adjourned at 5:10 P.M.
