Officer Dominic Washington sworn in at Ione City Council meeting

Janice administered the oath and Officer Washington recited the pledge: "I, Dominic Washington, do solemnly swear...that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of California." After the oath, Dominic's father pinned his badge and council members and staff offered congratulations.
City staff briefly introduced Officer Washington's background, noting he graduated the Delta U Police Academy in December 2024, previously worked at the Stockton Police Department and is joined in the chamber by family members. The council welcomed the new officer and staff said he would be an immediate addition to the department roster.
