Marlborough EDC to reach out after several local business changes

The Marlborough Economic Development Commission said it will reach out to several incoming and departing businesses after updates at its April 16 meeting.
Joe Asklar of the BOS reported that Schneider Electric on North Main Street is consolidating operations and vacating that location; Glastonbury Guage is expected to move into the space. He also reported that Dr. Rafolowksi sold his eye-care practice to Greloch Eyecare, the Marlborough Plastics site has closed and is reported to be converting to residential property, and Zina’s plans to start a farmers market. Mark Paul, chair of the commission, encouraged commissioners to use available resources to support local businesses.
The commission agreed to reach out to the new or changing businesses to offer welcome assistance and to discuss possible grand opening events or press releases. No formal incentives or financial commitments were recorded; outreach and welcome activities were described as the next steps.
The commission also noted the EDC’s shared Google Folder of materials for reference and planning.
