The Marlborough Board of Selectmen on April 21 approved two procurement awards for town infrastructure projects.
Peter Hughes presented one bid for replacement of the Blish Park basketball systems and the board voted to award Stadium Systems a contract for $15,075, with funding to come from the Parks & Recreation budget. Susan McFarland moved to sign the contract and the motion carried unanimously.
Hughes also described a catch-basin-top replacement project on Rivendell Road. The board awarded ECF Construction LLC $16,800 for paving work plus an additional $300 per catch basin as needed. The work will be paid from the Road Materials/Public Works account and the project is scheduled for completion by July 1, 2026.
Both awards were approved after staff described there was a single responsive bid in each case. No public objections were recorded during the formal motions. The board did not amend contract amounts during the vote.
Next steps: staff will finalize contracts and proceed with scheduling and permitting as required; the Rivendell Road project is slated to finish by July 1, 2026.
