Selectmen approve minutes, authorize online sale of surplus equipment and appoint two ballot clerks

The Selectmen opened the meeting by approving the minutes from March 3, 2026; Clerk (speaker 8) recorded the motion, which passed unanimously, 3-0.
Under unfinished business the board opened sealed bids for four items of surplus equipment. Treasurer (speaker 7) reported the advertised minimums and the bids received; one Explorer bid did not meet the minimum. Committee member (speaker 6) moved to post remaining unsold items on an online marketplace and speaker 8 seconded; the motion passed, 3-0. The board instructed staff to notify bidders and allow 48 hours for a response where titles are in order.
In new business the board appointed two ballot clerks for Friday’s election: Annette Brown (Republican) and Susan O’Brien (unenrolled). Committee member (speaker 6) moved to appoint them and the motion passed, 3-0.
Toward the end of the meeting a motion was made to enter executive session for personnel matters under MRSA §405(6); the board moved to go into executive session rather than adjourning in open session. No public action or vote was taken in open session on the underlying personnel matters.
